The boys and girls have returned this year to the James Monroe Little League Field for the first time in five years. The Edgewater community is happy to have baseball back in town and so, far the season has been going well!

‘Edgewater Baseball fans got a treat tonight with 2 great minors games this evening!  We saw the power players of Team Target take on the super sporty Prominent Properties team.  This game was a showdown in the making, these teams last faced eachother on opening day in a extremely close game that left Prominent Properties on top.  Tonight we saw big plays, big hits, and pristine pitching from both teams!  Team Target took the field looking to keep their winning streak going.  They had great plays in the field including:Brett Lace catching a high pop up at the mound, Sarai Fonimos with a great catch in the 3rd inning, and Dean Scarcella with a great play at 2nd base!  Targets bats were also on point in this game with base hits from Nathan Williams, Brett Lace, Jailynn Gonzalez,Dean Scarcella, a double by Min Joon Kang, and a 3 RBI homerun from Laila Sheppard!  Prominent Properties was not playing around tonight- they were looking to score! Colin Lee started it off for Prominent Properties with a homerun!  Cash Matos had a homerun in the 2nd inning and followed it up with a triple at his next at bat! Abdo Shaqra had a base hit and a double.  Sebastian Vega had a strong base hit.  JinHo Oh had a base hit at bat and controlled the game with his pitching.  Vikrim Gangu hit a solid triple to take the lead in the 6th inning!  These teams put forth valiant efforts but tonight Prominent Properties reigned supreme 6-4.    Congratulations to all on a game well played!!!!!!!’

Consumer Confidence | Global Affluence: The Emerging Luxury Consumer

Last week, Sotheby’s International Realty® introduced “Global Affluence: The Emerging Luxury Consumer,” a report examining the confidence, spending habits and purchasing interests of emerging luxury consumers from around the world.  Today, we take a deeper dive into the confidence of the emerging luxury consumer; the report found that those with $250,000 USD to $1 million USD in investable assets are have an overall level of confidence.

Emerging luxury consumers around the world are confident in the economy.  Most feel that their respective national economies are strong and headed in the right direction.  In addition, this demographic is extremely confident in their own personal economic situations and feel that they can afford all the things they want, including a home.

Emerging luxury consumers have also expressed confidence in their respective housing markets.  While many have plans to purchase a luxury home in the next year, there is a significant jump of those looking to purchase a luxury home in the next three years, ranging from 76% of emerging luxury consumers in the United Kingdom to 95% of emerging luxury consumers in India.

Key motivators behind the emerging luxury consumer’s home purchasing decision vary from country to country and include the state of the housing market, being at the right stage in life and looking for a home to fit a particular lifestyle.
