Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty members collaborate with Rebuilding Together® Bergen County for the third year to make homes safer and healthier for Bergen County Families

For the third year, Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty members and their fellow members of the Community Service Committee of the Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors collaborated with Rebuilding Together® Bergen County on “National Rebuilding Day” to contribute to making homes safer and healthier for families in Bergen County.

This year, the volunteers were hard at work painting and refreshing the residents’ rooms at Bright Side Manor in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Rebuilding Together® has declared National Rebuilding Day to be held across the country on the last Saturday in April. National Rebuilding Day is the culmination of a year of planning, evaluating, training, organizing and mobilizing hundreds of thousands of community volunteers. Community leaders and national corporate sponsors embrace it as a way to bring immediate impact to America’s communities in a single day.

This year, National Rebuilding Day was held on April 29, 2017, and across the country Rebuilding Together® affiliates carried out projects that celebrate the organization’s mission and bring national attention to the plight of America’s low-income homeowners and the communities in which they live.

On National Rebuilding Day, volunteers join local Rebuilding Together® affiliate leaders to provide much needed and sometimes critical life-saving repairs for vulnerable families to houses and nonprofit facilities, revitalizing entire communities and making a lasting impression on the families who are served. For many volunteers, these positive experiences of helping their neighbors in need bring them back year after year.

The national impact generated on this day is strong, with volunteers completing more than 4,000 home and community center projects every year across the country. Nationally, over the course of the year, nearly 10,000 volunteers complete about 10,000 rebuild projects each year.

On a local level, Rebuilding Together® Bergen County also experiences high-impact success. Each year locally, more than 300 volunteers repair approximately 10 homes and serve dozens of individuals and families.

“Being neighborly is an easy thing to do in such a special community,” says, Broker Associate, Manager at Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty’s Tenafly regional office, and Chair of the Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors Community Service and Outreach Committee, Janet Ginsberg, “It’s an honor to lend a helping hand and make a positive impact.”

“National Rebuilding Day is a favorite here at Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty” says, Charles Oppler, COO and Co-Owner of Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, “Many of our members have been residents of Bergen County for their entire life. It is an honor to serve such a great community as Bergen County and we thank all the volunteers who joined together to make a difference for the families in need.

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — A village realtor has donated $500 in grocery store gift cards for the Center for Food Action’s pantry at Bergen Community College recently.

The pantry at BCC opened in 2014 to help students, faculty and staff who struggle with hunger.

The college has fought hunger in the community in other ways. President B. Kaye Walter signed the President’s Commitment to Food and Nutrition Security pledge last year.

Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty is ‘All Wrapped Up’ in Spreading Holiday Cheer!

“The holiday season can be a joyous time for many people. However, for those living with illness, poverty or other hardships the holidays can be difficult.” – Debbie Emery, Director of Community Volunteer Services at Volunteer Center of Bergen County.

Sales Associates of Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty recognize this unfortunate truth and volunteered through ‘All Wrapped Up,’ a holiday giving program through the Volunteer Center of Bergen County. The program matches Bergen County individuals and families in need with willing donors from the community.

The group of Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty volunteers elected to provide holiday cheer to those in need through, ‘Adopt-A-Family.’ This allows for volunteers to make an entire family’s holiday a little brighter. Families range in size from two people to large, extended families.

“Helping those in need and making someone smile is what the holiday season is all about.” says, Janet Ginsberg, Broker Associate at the firm’s Tenafly regional office and Chair of the Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors® Community Service Committee, “It is our absolute pleasure to give back to our truly wonderful community.”
